All-Fantasy Team, Quarter 2

AntonioGates.jpgWe’re officially at the halfway point in the season, so it’s time to look at the players who made a lot of owners happy in Weeks 5-8. Let me just be clear, this is not a look at the cumulative stats of players for the whole season but rather a snapshot of which players excelled in the second quarter of the season. So for all intent and purposes, I am totally ignore the first quarter of the season.

If you want to know the scoring format being used, refer back to the Quarter 1 Team post.

Quarterback

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints – 82.52 points

Edges out Philip Rivers by a nose, though Rivers wins in leagues that penalize more for interceptions.

Running backs

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings – 76.50 points
Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans – 75.90 points

Jamaal Charles (67.70) and Frank Gore (67.60) get honorable mentions.

Wide receivers

Percy Harvin, Minnesota Vikings – 79.60 points
Roddy White, Atlanta Falcons – 78.50 points
Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions – 78.10 points

Amazingly, Johnson and White both made this team having their bye week during this span.

Flex player

Kenny Britt, Tennessee Titans – 77.40 points
Brandon Lloyd, Denver Broncos – 77.40 points

We have a tie! Britt made the cut not scoring in Week 8 due to injury, so he would win the tie-breaker.

Tight end

Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers – 77.80 points

Not even close!

Kicker

Dan Carpenter, Miami Dolphins – 43 points

DST

Oakland Raiders – 64 points

Their beatdown of the Chargers in Week 5 was epic and handed them the crown, but they disappeared the following two weeks before showing up again in Week 8.
